Entrance Kiosk (/kiosk)

The Entrance Kiosk (/kiosk/:slug) is the self-service check-in terminal placed at your store or clinic entrance. Built specifically for public touchscreens, it features oversized touch targets (80–140px), zero hover dependencies, and automatic idle resets.

Dual Check-In Modes for Every Visitor

EntraLane combines touch check-in and mobile QR check-in on a single screen so every demographic can check in comfortably:

1. Touch Check-In (Screen + Optional Paper Slip)

The visitor taps their desired service category (e.g., Consultation or Order Pickup) directly on the screen.

  • Confirmation Overlay: Their assigned ticket number and mnemonic word (e.g., A-024 • Silver Fox) are displayed prominently for a configurable countdown (ticketDurationSeconds, default: 15 seconds).
  • Thermal Receipt Printing: Depending on your Print Mode, the kiosk either prints a slip immediately (Automatic), offers a “Print Ticket” button (Optional), or remains 100% digital (Disabled).

2. Mobile QR Check-In (Live Smartphone Ticket)

The visitor scans the dynamic QR code on the kiosk using their smartphone camera.

  • Anti-Abuse Security: The QR token is cryptographically signed with HMAC-SHA256 and rotates automatically every 20–30 seconds, ensuring only guests physically present at the entrance can join the queue.
  • Live Mobile Companion: The guest’s phone opens /t/:ticketId showing live queue position, estimated wait time, Web Push notifications, haptic vibration on callout, and self-service Pause (“Step Away”) or cancellation controls.

Smart Handover Between Screen, Paper & Phone

EntraLane automatically coordinates digital and paper tickets to eliminate wasted thermal paper:

  • Scanning on Screen Suppresses Paper Print: If a visitor taps a service on the touchscreen and then scans the confirmation screen’s QR code with their phone, the kiosk detects the mobile claim in real time, closes the confirmation modal, and cancels the automatic paper print.
  • Paper-to-Mobile Handover QR: Every printed thermal receipt includes a dedicated handover QR code (/t/:id#k=:claimSecret). Visitors holding a paper slip can scan it at any time while waiting to transfer their live ticket status to their smartphone.

Automated Kiosk States

The Entrance Kiosk responds automatically to your queue’s live capacity and operating schedule:
