5-Minute Quickstart & Setup Wizard

When you register a new account at entralane.com, EntraLane launches the interactive Setup Wizard. In six guided steps, it builds a complete, ready-to-use queue topology tailored to your business.

Set Up Your First Queue in 6 Steps

  1. Choose an Industry Preset Select the template that best matches your operation:

    • Retail & Showroom — pre-configured for consultations, checkout, and Click & Collect pickups.
    • Healthcare & Clinic — tailored for patient check-in, prescriptions, and treatment rooms.
    • Municipal & Public Service — designed for citizen registration, permits, and casework desks.
    • Repair & Service Center — ideal for device drop-off, diagnostics, and collection.
    • General — neutral defaults suitable for any visitor-facing business.

    The preset populates sensible defaults for your waiting area name, counter labels, and initial service category, all of which can be customized in the next steps.

  2. Set Your Organization Name & Brand Color Enter your company or branch name (e.g., “Downtown Flagship Store”) and pick your Brand Color. EntraLane automatically computes WCAG-compliant foreground and accent tokens across all connected terminals.

  3. Configure Your Waiting Area & Capacity Name your primary waiting area (e.g., “Main Lobby”) and set:

    • Max Capacity (MaxCapacity): The maximum number of guests allowed to wait simultaneously before the kiosk displays a temporary “Queue Full” screen (default: 20, minimum: 5).
    • Max Ticket Number (MaxTicketNumber): An optional upper number limit (e.g., 99 or 999) after which ticket numbers wrap back around to 1.

  4. Select Initial Device Counts Use the stepper buttons to tell EntraLane how many logical terminals to provision automatically:

    • Service Desks: At least 1 counter or consultation room (e.g., Desk 1, Desk 2).
    • Entrance Kiosks: 0 or more self-service check-in screens.
    • TV Displays: 0 or more waiting area call screens.

  5. Define Your First Service & Mnemonic Theme Enter the name of your first customer-facing service (e.g., “General Inquiry” with prefix A) and optionally pick a Mnemonic Theme (Animals, Cosmic, Movie Characters, Colors, or None).

  6. Finish & Launch Click Complete Setup. EntraLane provisions your location, automatically links your kiosks, services, desks, and TV displays inside Visitor Flow, and takes you straight to the live dashboard.

Test Your Queue Immediately (Zero Hardware Needed)

You can test the entire visitor journey right on your computer before pairing any physical tablets or TVs:

  1. Navigate to Visitor Flow or Devices in the admin sidebar.
  2. Open the action menu (⋮) on your Entrance Kiosk, Desk 1, and TV Display, and click Open Preview.
  3. EntraLane opens appropriately proportioned popup windows for each surface. Tap a service in the Kiosk preview window to issue a ticket, then press Call Next (or hit Space) in the Desk window — you will immediately see and hear the callout on the TV Display preview!
